Though backwards, he also reminds them of a greater command, 'do not let your hearts be troubled'. We explore what it looks like to keep our hearts centered on Jesus through our storms and chaos.
REPETITIOUS LOVE BY ROBERT MULHEARN Jesus' statement should transform our lives as we remember what true love for God looks like. We are to continue to follow in his footsteps, obeying his commands in order to bring his glory into this world while loving one another and caring deeply for each others salvation.
WASHING THE SMELLY FEET BY JEREMY NEWTON-JOHN Jesus, in one of his most humbling acts washes the feet of his disciples setting an example for the apostles and for us that calls us everyday to choose the needs of others over our own selves. It is also a reminder to lean into the real issues, in order to clean and make right what has been made wrong.
GODS EYE VIEW BY SCOTT BURDON We are reminded to make our view point that of Jesus as he enters Jerusalem to face his death in order to bring about life.
BEYOND ALL REASON BY ROBERT MULHEARN God often reveals his love through suffering rather than comfort, pain rather than glory and truth where we want to be true. With Lazarus Jesus proves his ultimate glory and his plan to love all people with a power that can save beyond all reason.
FAITHFUL HEART, FAITHFUL HEAD BY ROBERT MULHEARN Jesus completes his large discourse with the audience of Jews present throughout the festivals with a final reminder of who he is and why is has come. Sadly, his audience still are unable to see his answers or actions clearly - we too have to be careful to ensure we see Jesus as he intends and as it is written in scripture.
SEE THE GATE AND THE SHEPHERD BY ROBERT MULHEARN Jesus is still trying to help the religious peoples around him find their sight spiritually. He turns to using figurative language portraying those listening as sheep with a shepherd who herds and cares for animal along with a gate that determines entry to the pen and safe harbour when darkness comes.
SEE HIS WORKS OR DO HIS WILL BY ROBERT MULHEARN To ensure we remain connected to Jesus we are called to remember Jesus simple teachings, that is not seeing him perform signs that make us believe but instead acting on his will by living out the scriptures and as we do we are clearly able to see the truth in what Jesus is doing in our lives.
ALWAYS AT WORK BY ROBERT MULHEARN Jesus, through his actions, prove his motives and reveal his true nature. Not only is this true, but as he provokes
SEEKING JESUS WITH OUR WHOLE HEART BY ROBERT MULHEARN Jesus escapes the locals who are trying to make him king, and again we are exposed to the deepest convictions of Jesus' heart, which is to give everything for us to know God. As he escapes to reconnect to God, his disciples and us as an audience are reminded though the cost is high, the surrender we face at the cross is worth our lives.
