We all understand as we mature into discipleship that we contend with our hearts all the time, making us each different soils at various moments in our lives. But as we strain to grow closer to God, we want to make sure the basics are stable in order to continue to climb ever closer to Jesus.

Everything is possible for one who believes - but the disciples are unable to drive out a spirit which 3 chapters earlier they could do without hesitation. The power we have as disciples, through Jesus is only accessible if we hold our end of the bargain, and commit to complete partnership with God.

We cover the first half of our text, looking at Jesus' transformation before God on the mountain and its intrinsic and deep connection to prayer. Jesus' example teaches us that prayer offer us the opportunity for clear vision while adding strength to our strength.
