FINAL EXHORTATIONS BY WAYNE THORTON Paul finishes the letter by encouraging the church to give more and reminds them of his heart to visit and share in the gospel with them. In this final stage of his letter, the body is also being reminded to continue the good work started in them, using his correction and advice in order to grow, just as we also need all need advice, feedback and exhortation throughout our lives in order to fulfill Gods great plan in our lives
STUMBLING BLOCKS OR BUILDING BLOCKS BY ROBERT MULHEARN Paul calls for the church to be faithful in the way they treat one another - faith is something so often we attribute to certain Godly actions, without realizing faith in one area does not equate to faith in another. The disciples in Rome are being reminded of what we are called to do in regards to our faith in and for one another.
THE NIGHT IS NEARLY OVER BY ROBERT MUHEARN Paul now begins to dive into issues relating to the church, and history tells us there is one issue in particular that remains across the next two centuries. Paul calls the church, regardless of circumstance to live according to what God has planned and to obey civil leadership by doing what is right in order to fulfill his greater will and purpose.
LIVING SACRIFICES BY ROBERT MULHEARN In light of Pauls argument for a God who has done everything possible to save both the world and the nation of Israel, we see all the more the deep love, mercy and justice he has for his creation, as we come to terms with a decision to be different based on a clear fact that without Jesus we are lost.
ELECTION AND FREE WILL (Cont.) BY ROBERT MULHEARN We continue to dissect Pauls argument for why Israel have walked away from God, and how this falls into a pattern of character that both reminds us of how unknowable and unsearchable our God is, yet how truly loving, merciful and compassionate he can be.
ELECTION AND FREE WILL BY ROBERT MULHEARN The full depth of God is unknowable and unsearchable, but thankfully Paul using the Jews as an example can point to them as a great example of how we can trust God based on his choices surrounding their history, present and future. In this example we are given a greater picture of Gods character and see a deeper proof for justice, trust and security in our truly loving God.
I DO WHAT I DO NOT WANT TO DO BY FLOYD SAMUSHONGA + JORDAN DEQUINA Paul reminds us that our nature will always stand in opposition to God's will, but thankfully we are also given Jesus, who being God knows this nature and for this reason allows us to enjoy the grace of Jesus. This great love allows us to acknowledge our wrongs, but full of peace strive to be free of sin and to be filled with God's will once again.
SLAVES TO WHOM WE OBEY BY ROBERT MULHEARN As disciples, we are constantly battling our hearts and the sinful nature within, but Paul calls us to remember whom we owe our servitude. We often are caught again becoming a servant to the wrong master and forget the great blessing of peace we have in Jesus.
PEACE WITH GOD BY ROBERT MULHEARN Though we have been justified by Christ, and we are completely undeserving - to often we get caught focusing on how we can pay back our debt, or earn the love Christ showed us on the cross. Instead, Paul reminds us the response should be peace through the deep understanding of Jesus' boundless love.
DEAD TO SIN, ALIVE IN CHRIST BY ROBERT MULHEARN As we celebrate Easter, we remember not the traditions of the world, but instead celebrate the monumental achievement of resurrection. We owe Jesus our very lives, but this also calls us to flee from sin, no longer living for ourselves.
