STRENGTHEN YOUR FEEBLE ARMS BY ROBERT MULHEARN The writer of Hebrews is calling the audience, in light of Jesus' power, to lift there arms and get back into the fight. Having our arms raised leaves us vulnerable, but exposes us to our deep need for Jesus when life takes unexpected turns.
DO NOT HAVE TIME BY ROBERT MULHEARN The writer has made his case for faith but ultimately wants the audience to understand that talking about faith does not result in any change. To generate faith is to understand Jesus' faith in us and that everyone that proceeds him is to help us make the faithful decision to imitate his life on earth.
CHOOSING GOD'S WILL BY ROBERT MULHEARN The discourse in Hebrews continues as the writer pushes the audience to see the meaninglessness of tradition, temples and rituals without the bigger picture Jesus would come to fulfill. A strong reminder for us today to remember to keep the main focus of our lives on Jesus, and to check for issues we are discussing that are secondary to God; while ensuring our conscience is aligned with a will that can only be enacted through Jesus' death and the law being fulfilled
BOUND BY A NEW LAW BY ROBERT MULHEARN As the writer continues to make Jesus' claim to the kingdom more sound theologically and ever more compelling through history we see the him/her align Jesus with the order of the Priesthood from Genesis. This profound argument helps us realize God's plan for even before the institutionalization of the Law for the nation of Israel. Gods plan was always Jesus!
TRAIN, MATURE, TEACH BY ROBERT MULHEARN As the writer of Hebrews laments the lack of maturity within the congregation, though they remain hopeful of better things in the future. The writer calls them to see what they can be when applying scriptural training to their own hearts constantly.
HOLD FIRM TO THE FAITH BY ROBERT MULHEARN Faith is what ties us to a solid foundation, and we must continue to work, build and grow our faith in order to withstand the many different ways life and the world will, like a torrent, try to carry us away.
CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD BY MIKE FONTENOT GUEST SPEAKER We are called the Pillars of the Church of the LIVING GOD, Gods household and Pillars of Truth. Our marriages should be representations of these principles as we strive to remain mission minded and live out Gods plan.
FAILURE TO REST BY ROBERT MULHEARN The writer of Hebrews outlines the law of Moses, and the need for the Sabbath based on reverence for God and how he decided to rest after creation. Today we still have this rest, but not by the Sabbath, but instead through Jesus as God makes he home to rest in our hearts.
